About the Department
It is one of the departments affiliated with the College of Medical Technology and is the first academic year for every student before specializing. In this year, eight courses are studied: Medical Terminology I, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biostatistics, Computer Principles, Zoology, General Physics, and Arabic Language. Each student must complete these courses with a minimum passing rate of 50%. After the student successfully passes the courses, a mechanism is established to distribute students to the specialized departments.
curriculum
The first year is general, and the remaining three years are specialized.
The student spends six months, dedicated solely to the graduation project and field training (internship), after successfully completing all the courses of the fourth year.
Two academic years are added to the duration as a maximum for the student's graduation.
The College of Medical Technology grants its graduating students a degree in Medical Technology (Bachelor's degree), and the College Council may propose the establishment of higher academic degrees, such as a Master's degree or a Doctorate in various specializations, after approval by the University Council when resources are available for that.
